Zayna GambleOn her way home one day, Zayna found herself the subject of verbal abuse by a fellow subway passenger, alongside a trans woman she had just given a couple of dollars to. Although she felt unsafe, she decided to speak up. “We have the right to what we think. But when you take that and you start to use that to put someone down and make them feel shameful for who they are, that's when you need to stop,” Zayna reflects. “It's definitely taken time for me to build the confidence that I have now but at the same time, it comes from my own personal experiences of being bullied . . . I don't want that to happen to myself. I don't want that to happen to anybody else."
